Bred by Dr. Wynne Davies and sired by one of the top-producing stallions in the UK. Lwcus's sire, Twyford Sprig, sired the winning Progeny Group at the Royal Welsh several times and numerous Royal Welsh and other UK winners in his 29 years. His dam produced Royal Welsh winner Ceulan Lucy. Lotus was the first pony not in residence in the USA to be awarded an LOM from the WPCSA, for the show ring accomplishments of her only three produce in the USA, Ceulan Lwcus LOM/AOE, Lorelei and Lydia.

At age two and a virtual replica of his illustrious sire, “Luke” won multiple Grand and Supreme Welsh Championships under both UK and American judges. With less than 50 days of training, he placed 2nd or 3rd in all English and Western Pleasure classes at the Welsh Western Nationals and Sierra Gold Classic in 1996, and won the Welsh Western Nationals WPCSA A/B English Pleasure ATR division championship the following year—proving he’s not just a pretty face!

As his get have matured and shown on the Welsh circuit, Lwcus has been recognized for the accomplishments of his sons and daughters by his place in the WPCSA Sire Ratings:
